Interior wall decorative panels for buildings in the medical field

Published on 2024.07.01

In traditional hospital building design, interior wall decoration primarily used direct painting methods. However, this traditional painting approach has some notable drawbacks. For instance, painted walls are prone to scratches, and the paint's antimicrobial properties are often insufficient to withstand frequent cleaning and disinfection. Additionally, painted walls can age and peel over time, affecting the aesthetics and hygiene of the hospital environment.
As the healthcare industry increasingly demands higher standards for environmental hygiene, modern hospitals have started to use more advanced wall panel materials for interior decoration. Wall panels not only effectively reduce scratches but also feature coatings that inhibit bacterial growth and are easy to clean. Particularly high-performance wall panels can maintain their effectiveness even after multiple disinfection procedures, significantly improving the hospital's hygiene standards and safety.
Environmental performance is also a key criterion for materials in the healthcare industry. In hospitals, where patients' immune systems are relatively weak, the environmental friendliness of materials directly impacts patient recovery and overall health conditions. Using environmentally friendly materials is not only a responsibility to patients but also beneficial for their recovery. Low formaldehyde and other harmful substance emissions are crucial standards for modern hospital building materials, protecting patients and creating a healthier work environment for medical staff.
Moreover, the chemical reagents and medicines used extensively in pharmaceutical laboratories inevitably pollute the walls, requiring hospital wall panels to have excellent corrosion and acid-alkali resistance. The surfaces of hospital wall panels are smooth and easy to clean, requiring only simple wiping for daily maintenance, making them both convenient and efficient.
In the medical service industry, the hardness of wall panels is also crucial. With high foot traffic in hospitals, collisions are inevitable, so wall panels need to be highly durable. SMONT's steel composite wall panels not only have excellent hardness but are also easy to install.
SMONT has made significant progress in this field with its research and development. Our new antimicrobial wall panels, based on asbestos-free fiber-reinforced cement boards, undergo multiple processes including grinding, impregnation, and waterproofing, followed by coating with UV fluorocarbon primer, UV fluorocarbon paint, and UV fluorocarbon varnish, and finally cured with ultraviolet light. This new type of inorganic fire-resistant decorative panel not only has excellent antimicrobial properties but also provides effective fire resistance, meeting Grade A fire standards. Additionally, this panel features ultra-low formaldehyde and other harmful substance emissions, providing a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing interior wall decoration solution for hospitals.

For the healthcare industry, such projects are usually large in scale. Modular wall panel installation can significantly save labor and time, improving construction efficiency. By adopting SMONT's new wall panels, hospitals not only enhance their aesthetics and functionality but also achieve new heights in hygiene standards and safety performance. In the future, SMONT will continue to focus on developing more high-performance building materials for the healthcare sector, contributing to the creation of healthier and safer medical environments.
